YouTube sidebar, search, TV app and subscriptions not working amid crash reports


YouTube users were reporting issues with the video streaming site on Tuesday night.

Streamers weren’t able to browse the site, see the sidebar, or watch their favorite videos on their TVs.

According to Down Detector, the issues started just after 8pm with people complaining that they couldn’t load the app or website.

Problems with the social media site have been recorded across the UK on Down Detector including London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Of the issues reported, 42% were related to issues with the app, while 33% were related to issues with the website.

25% of additional issues were related to video streaming from Youtube.

According to the heat mapthe worst affected areas are Edinburgh and London.

Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.

Users have taken to social media to express their frustration.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Anyone else unable to switch @YouTube account or just me????.”


With a third user message: “Yo @YouTube, your app is broken. You can’t swap accounts, and the sidebar on the left is gone, please fix that.”
