PlayStation 5 owners now have a new way to watch free movies and TV shows. The IMDb TV app is now available for the platform.
The service features original programming like Judge Judy’s new show, “Judy Justice,” and a rotating library of blockbuster movies and TV, including popular favorites like “Chicago Fire,” “All in the Family,” “Die Hard” and “Angel Falls Christmas.”
Free streamers like IMDb TV have grown by leaps and bounds in recent years as cord cutters seek to supplement their premium SVOD services with free content. IMDb TV didn’t rank particularly well in our list of the best free streaming services, mainly due to its clunky user interface and limited selection. Native apps provide a possible solution to at least one of these problems. While the library isn’t as extensive as Tubi or Pluto TV, IMDb TV does offer at least one other free option.
IMDb TV may also change its name in the near future after parent company Amazon expressed concern that people might not know what it is about. The service was originally called FreeDive when it launched.
Some notable titles you can watch on IMDb TV today:
- Lawrence of Arabia
- Donnie Darko
- Slumdog Millionaire
- His daughter Friday
- Little Miss Sun
- The African Queen
- philadelphia cream
- battle royale
You can also find a wide selection of concert films from bands like KISS, Green Day and Frank Sinatra.
You can download the IMDbTV app on Roku, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, LG Smart TV (2018-2021 models), Xfinity Flex, Xfinity X1 and PlayStation 4 consoles from Comcast, as well as Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA SHIELD, and other Android TV devices. The app is also available on iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices in the United States.
If your device doesn’t offer a native IMDb TV app, you can find it in the Prime Video app.
