Shaw BlueCurve TV app launched on Amazon Fire TV [Update]


Shaw recently launched its BlueCurve TV app on Amazon Fire TV devicesas spotted by iPhones in Canada Steve reader.

Adding BlueCurve TV to Amazon Fire TV devices means you can now stream the full functionality of the BlueCurve mobile app to your Fire TV devices.

Shaw says you’ll need a TV subscription and a Amazon Fire TV streaming device (running Fire OS 5 or newer) to use the BlueCurve TV app. You will also need a Shaw ID to log into the app on your Fire TV.

To get started, you’ll need to download the Shaw BlueCurve TV app from the main apps menu on your Fire TV device. After launching the app, you will be required to enter a 6-digit passcode with instructions on how to activate your account and log in, by going to on your computer or mobile device .

It looks like the BlueCurve TV app has been added to Amazon FireTV early December. As of this writing, there’s no sign of the BlueCurve TV app for Apple TV yet (still only on iPhone and iPad), but we’ve reached out to Shaw and will update this story accordingly.

The Shaw BlueCurve TV app allows customers to stream content across the web and access live TV channels and on-demand content, including access to live sports such as Sportsnet and TSN.

Formerly known as FreeRange TV, the app was renamed BlueCurve TV in fall 2019, after the company moved its IPTV offering to Comcast’s X1 cloud platform.

Update of December 20, 2021: A Shaw spokesperson confirmed iPhones in Canada BlueCurve TV app launched on Amazon Fire TV “early December”. Additionally, regarding the Shaw TV app on Apple TV, the spokesperson said they have no additional information to share at this time.
