Czech incumbent operator O2 has unveiled a brand new O2 TV app for Samsung TVs.
According to the company, it is intended for all customers who have sets produced from 2017 onwards. Commenting on the new application, Dana Tomaskova, Director of O2 TV and Digital Services, said: over 100,000 active devices with an older version of the app installed. The advantage is that in this case our customers have nothing to manage, nothing to download, the change will be done automatically in the background as soon as the application is available”.
She added, “With the update, viewers will get improvements and new features. They can expect not only a more modern look, but also clearer menu management, improved TV schedule and faster, or EPG, which will now be much easier to navigate and move around in. Full news for customers using this application will then have quick access to the Premium section requested by customers themselves, where they’ll find a full National Geographic+ library with premium materials, HBO OD, O2 TV Plus or mall.tv or access to YouTube, depending on the applicable rate.
The original app was available for Samsung TVs from November 2019. “It was the first smart TV app we offered to O2 TV customers. Their interest was immense at the time. That’s why other brands followed their own apps. Now we think all of our Samsung TV customers will be happy with this improvement to their O2 TV experience.”
The app will be updated gradually for Samsung TV owners over the next few days. Initially, it will be available for models manufactured in 2019, 2020 and 2021, followed by older devices.
