IMDb TV app tilts on LG, Sony PS4, NVIDIA, TiVo smart TVs – Reuters

IMDb TV, Amazon’s ad-supported VOD service, announced on March 9 that the IMDb TV app is now available on LG Smart TVs (2018-2021 models), including LG OLED TVs, consoles PlayStation 4, NVIDIA Shield and TiVo Stream 4K in the US.

IMDb TV, along with The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Tubi, Crackle Plus, Peacock, and soon to be HBO Max, among others, is a rapidly growing market for “ad-supported free streaming TV”, also known as of AVOD.

The expanded distribution follows recent launches of the IMDb TV app on Roku, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Sony Android TV devices, and Chromecast with Google TV. In addition to third-party devices, IMDb TV is available as an app on Fire TV and as a free channel in the Prime Video and IMDb apps on hundreds of devices.

IMDb TV Features Originals From Award-Winning Amazon Studios, Including Upcoming True Crime Docu-Series moment of truthpremiering on April 2, and the recently launched docu-sports series Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Pioneers. The free streaming service also features a comprehensive and always-updated library of movies and TV, including popular favorites like “Project Blue Book,” “Hart of Dixie,” and “Chicago Fire,” in addition to movies like that Arrival, Mary Queen of Scots and Lincoln’s lawyer, among others.

Additional originals include the recently announced “Bosch” spinoff, crime drama “Leverage: Redemption,” the second season of the popular spy thriller “Alex Rider,” and an untitled project by Judge Judy Sheindlin ± the streaming debut of Judge Sheindlin and her signature officiating style.
