The Central Florida women’s basketball team is having its best season in program history.

The Knights were nationally ranked for the first time and carried that momentum into the playoffs. They picked up his first NCAA Tournament win in seven tries and beat the in-state rival Florida Gators for the first time in 27 meetings on Saturday.

The UCF now faces its toughest test yet against a familiar foe: Paige Bucker and the Connecticut Huskies.

The offense is led by guard Diamond Battles, who averages nearly 14 points per game. No. 7 seeded UCF defeated No. 10 seeded Florida 69-52 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
